A very good impression with strong colors.
Calder (1898-1976) collaborated with Braniff Airways, 1973-75, to design "Flying Colors" jet canvases for the airlines Boeing 727 fleet. Calder painted maquettes or smaller-scale airplane model designs and some of these designs were used for limited edition color lithographs to commemorate the project, culminating in the July 4, 1976, bicentennial celebration which included the "Flying Colors" of the United States.
